Sportswriter and The Bald Faced Truth host John Canzano joined guest host Bernard Bokenyi Wednesday to recap the current Olympic medal count and new Blazers head coach Terry Stotts.
According to Canzano, the United States has become the antagonist of the world with their 81 medals, four more than second place China.
"We've been an Olympic bully," Canzano said. "There are more than 200 nations competing here in London. Less than half of them have won a single medal."
"So they're are a lot of people watching China at the top, and seeing them challenge us, and they're going, 'Hey, It's about time someone took out the Americans.' "
Locally, Canzano had a positive reaction to the Blazers hiring Terry Stotts, calling the move a "great hire."
"Of the guys available, he was the best candidate," Canzano commented. "What I especially love is that Terry Stotts had to design and build an offense in Dallas that centered around a great power forward who could step out and shoot it ... he's got that same sort of element here in Portland."
Canzano gave a preview of a few of tomorrow's events as well, including the women's soccer gold medal game and Ashton Eaton going for gold in the decathlon. Listen to the interview:
