Bowen Breaks Down NFL Playoffs

The Sports world still cannot get over the monumental collapse by the Denver Broncos over the weekend and we are no different. So we invited one of the best NFL writers in the business and a former player onto the show to talk about it with us. Matt Bowen from National Football Post joined Chad on Flight 750 to weigh in on the wild weekend of NFL playoffs.
Bowen like many of us suggests that a lot of the blame – not all of it, but most of it – should fall on the shoulders of Broncos safety Rahim Moore.
“You look at the Denver–Baltimore matchup…That end of the game situation when you’re a deep half safety and I don’t want to sing out Rahim Moore because he’s a young player – That’s a tough situation to give up a play like that but you’ve got to know the game situation.”
Bowen also when on to say that the defense did everything it was supposed to do in getting itself ready for the situation on the Torrey Smith touchdown. It just did not make the play at the end of the game.
“It was the ideal call for that situation because you’re telling your defense ‘Look, comeback, curl, inside square in, those routs can’t beat us right now. Give those plays up. We’ll make the tackle, get back in the huddle and call something else.’ But you can’t give up the deep ball there.”
Bowen also talked about the rough day from cornerback Champ Bailey in the game Saturday.
“I played with Champ a long time ago. He’s one of the best players I’ve ever been around but Torrey Smith beat him up…That happens sometimes. That happens to every DB in the NFL. You don’t like to see it in the playoff space, but you know what, Flacco and Torrey Smith took advantage of it and had a great day.
