Major League Baseball reporter Barry Bloom joined The Bald Faced Truth guest host Bernard Bokenyi Thursday to break down the trade deadline.

One of the biggest moves included the Cubs trading Ryan Dempster to the Rangers. However, Bloom doesn't see the move making quite the impact that people are anticipating.

"Dempster is a mediocre pitcher who's had some good runs and bad runs in Chicago," Bloom said. "I think they [Texas] were desperate."

The Dodgers were another team to make a number of deadline deals, including the acquisition of Hanley Ramirez from Miami and Shane Victorino from Philadelphia. Bloom said these moves likely won't be the only ones the Dodgers will to make before the end of the year.

"There's going to be more trades to come on players that go through the waiver wire," Bloom pointed out. "They're [Los Angeles] going to make another move. They've go have got to have another pitcher."
