Alex Molden former Ducks and NFL defensive back joins The Bald Faced Truth with John Canzano to talk about the Ducks defense and his experience in college football postseason.

After his career with the Oregon Ducks Alex Molden went on to play for multiple NFL teams for about 8 seasons; teams such as the New Orleans Saints, San Diego Chargers and the Detroit Lions for his last year.

Alex does not spend too much time rooting for a particular team in his retirement. He really enjoys rooting for old teammates who have moved on to other teams. Alex likes the idea that he is a fan now and can enjoy watching the games instead of analyzing them.

“I am a fan of the game and for the most part I watch games and I’m watching the defense. I am watching the secondary, I’m seeing what’s happening, what the quarterback is doing and play action. For so many years I was game planning and now I’m a fan watching it”.

Molden is now enjoying his retirement with his three kids who are all different ages. He has been helping coach his sons teams over the years. Molden never realized how much stress is involved when it’s your own child that is on the field.

“I’ve never had so much stress watching football then watching these kids play. My stomach is all knotted up, I’m nervous, but you know it’s a lot different experience being in a game and having control then being a father who’s watching his kids have to deal with the same things”.

Molden has been doing a lot after his retirement with both his kids and other organizations to help local communities. Recently Molden has been working with training young athletes with Nike.

“It’s a dream come true, I definitely love what I do and to be able to still have my hand in football with helping coach my kids, you know I’m really blessed”.
