Beavers Better Believe in Backup

It was a tough day for the Beavers and their followers Monday as they learned that Sean Mannion must have knee surgery and he will be sidelined for an undisclosed period of time.  Kerry Eggers, the Dean of Portland Sports, joined Chad on Flight 750 Monday to break down the Mannion injury and what it means for the Beavers.

Mannion down, but Vaz is ready

Coach Mike Riley announced today that starting quarterback Sean Mannion will be out for an unspecified amount of time with a knee injury. Riley stated that Mannion was still undergoing medical examinations on his knees and will release a timeline for his return soon. Lindsay Schnell, Oregon State beat writer for The Oregonian, joins the Bald Faced Truth with John Canzano to talk about Mannion knee injury and his backup Cody Vaz.

Lindsay and John discuss why Mike Riley was so reluctant to reveal that Sean Mannion was injured. Lindsay reveals the scene at practice and how coy Riley was when he announced that Mannion was out for Saturday’s game. She talks about when Beaver fans will know if Mannion could return this season. Lindsay then explains how the other Beaver players are reacting to the news that Mannion is out.
